I am a landscape artist. Yes, I deliberately use this traditional term in order to reclaim it . Living in a region where land and borders are at the center of debate and violence, I approach landscape as a site of tension rather than neutrality. My work develops through site-specific research—walking, mapping, photographing, and engaging with local communities—gradually gathering fragments that shape the final outcome. The work takes shape as installations of large-scale painting with sound and video. For me, landscape is never neutral. It is an active and unstable ground, where visible surfaces conceal undercurrents of conflict and memory.
